Heston MRO has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Deputy Quality Assurance and Safety Manager to join the Quality department at our head office situated in North Brisbane on a permanent, full time basis. Reporting to the Quality Assurance and Safety Manager (QASM), you will work closely with the Deputy Quality Assurance and Safety Manager, Station Maintenance Managers and Engineers in ensuring the quality management systems correspond with the company’s business model and objectives.
Key Responsibilities include:
- Champion Compliance and Safety across the business;
- Carrying out investigations of incidents and accidents;
- Carry out internal audits and act as the QA representative for audits with customers and regulators
- Assist in managing the company audit program across all ports;
- Create or amend QA and supporting manuals;
- Management and coordination of Company Maintenance Authorisations;
- Monitoring and reporting on compliance with the requirements of the Civil Aviation Regulations;
- Mentor and guide company personnel on Compliance, Safety and continual improvement.
- Managing safety management records on hazards and risks to ensure a safe work environment;
- Some travel across to our stations at all major airports inclusive of Brisbane, Coolangatta, Sydney, Melbourne, Avalon and Perth
To be successful you will have:
- Demonstrated experience working in an Aviation Quality and Safety role
- Sound knowledge and comprehension of at least one of CASA , EASA or FAA regulations and processes that apply to an Aircraft Maintenance Organisation;
- Experience in participating in management meetings and leadership discussions;
- Ability to interpret regulations and rules and apply them without bias;
- Experience in implementing or maintaining quality management systems;
- A good understanding of Risk Management;
The following Qualifications, skills and experience will be considered as an advantage:
- Completion of a Lead Auditor and SMS course;
- Possession of a Part 66 Licence, or Large Aircraft Maintenance experience;
- Experience working in a Part 145 Aircraft Maintenance organisation, preferably in a leadership role;
- Cert IV in WHS and/or Training and Assessment and related training experience;
- Sound knowledge of maintenance requirements on a broad range or large passenger aircraft;
- Demonstrated knowledge of Change Management principles
